Fortified wine
Strong wine is wine with added alcohol. Therefore, these products often have a higher alcohol percentage than those we would usually associate with wine. Well-known strong wines are Port Wine, Sherry, Madeira, Marsala and Vermouth. With consideration to alcohol regulations, the term strong wine is limited to products with an alcoholic strength of between 15 and 22% and extended to include grape most with added spirits such as Pineau des Charentes.
