It all started in the markets of Provence. With nothing but an alembic, a small truck and solid knowledge of plants, a 23-year-old named Olivier Baussan began distilling essential oil of rosemary to sell locally. He expanded his production from oils to soaps to creams, and drew inspiration from the country he grew up in to bring natural beauty to homes around the world. L’OCCITANE works directly with over 140 producers and 10,000 pickers - from the Immortelle fields in Corsica to the lavender fields in Provence - to ensure that the ingredients used are of the highest quality and sourced as sustainably as possible. Here in Norway, L’Occitane Shea Butter hand cream and L’Occitane Almond Shower oil are the best sellers of this French brand from Provence.
